Writer, composer, producer and performer Karl Wolf has finally come to terms with his art and his own sound, and is now ready to branch out on his own to unveil what is going on behind his prolific expressions.

Karl has co-produced and written songs for the reality TV show Star Academy, the biggest selling album in Canada in 2003, which went on to sell five times platinum status in under a year. One of the songs that Karl composed was chosen as the second single to the Star Academy phenomenon. The song hit #1 on the BDS Francophone Charts, and Karl was awarded and honored at this years SOCAN AWARDS winning the prize for “The most popular song”. He went on to do the same on Star Academy II in 2004, which reached double platinum status as well. This success was a result of years of hard work, co-producing Quebec’s Gabrielle Destroismaisons. Her album went platinum in 2001 and Karl was awarded the FELIX at the L’ADISQ for “Best mix and sound of the year”. Two of the singles from her album, co-written by Karl, also reached #1 on the BDS Francophone Charts.

Karl has also composed and produced for other successful and award-winning artists like Mitsou, Emily, Jerome-Philippe and many more, making him one of the youngest writer/composer/producers in Quebec’s music scene at 26 years old.
After having toured with multi-platinum selling rap group Dubmatique as the key vocalist, Karl was presented with the great opportunity to become the lead singer for the double platinum selling pop group SKY in 2002. He went on to co-produce, co-write and perform all the songs on the Sext/EMI licensed album Picture Perfect. SKY was then nominated for ‘favorite pop artist’ at 2004 Canadian Indies. This in turn brought about the offer to tour with and open for Shawn Desman on his Western Canada Shook Tour in the summer of 2003. While part of SKY, Karl also had the opportunity to open for other artists such as Maverick signees Lillix, and local artist, Snow. Two music videos were released for SKY’s third album, one of which was the song “Dedication,” and it was this single that reached #7 on the BDS charts.

Karl has also gained popularity achieved by the constant radio play of his songs across Canada. Just this summer he was invited by N’SYNC to open the show at this years CFTC (Challenge for the children) in South Beach, Miami, in front of thousands of fans. He performed one of his songs called “Butterflies”.
