Top 3 Funniest Hockey Moments Ever

When you think of ice hockey, "funny" is maybe not the first term that comes to mind. Sometimes outsiders say they don't see the difference between hockey and a mass brawl, and they consider it one of the most aggressive sports ever to be played on ice (or otherwise, for that matter). But hockey is not without its funny moments, though. Things happen on the ice and on the side as well that can get you ROFL (roll on the floor laughing). Here is a short selection of the funniest of them all.

3. Jack Johnson gets the stare

Los Angeles Kings defender Jack Johnson got into a stare-off with one of the youngest fans ever to attend during the 2010-11 season, in a game against the Minnesota Wild. Who knows, maybe he got thirsty, and the stare was meant for the bottle Johnson was sipping out of. He even tries to wave the kid off, but to no prevail...

2. Star Spangled Issues (plus Instant Karma)

Not remembering the lines of the Star Spangled Banner is embarrassing enough, but this girl goes one step further. Unlucky for her, the step is on the ice, which is - as you probably all know - slippery. She apparently doesn't, so the worst singing performance ends in an instant punishment for her. It's a pity - she has a nice voice.

Maybe she should have better left the ice (and the National Anthem) alone, trying her luck at the Break Away slot machine instead. The slot, available for free and real money play at the Red Flush online casino, is paying homage to hockey in a grand way, and is at a safe distance from the ice (which is slippery, as we can see in the above video). Red Flush offers its players great games to be excited about, with over 700 games to choose from and the best online promotions ever seen. And slot machines are not the only games you can play at the Red Flush. You can choose from card games, arcade titles, and even casual games to play with.

1. Breaking the stick (instead of the referee)

During a game of hockey there is a lot of aggression and tension in the air. People tend to snap, and not just on the ice - as best shown by the Hulk Hogan performance of Abbotsford Heat (American Hockey League) head coach Jim Playfair in 2010. The coach is absolutely unhappy with the decision of the referee to send off one of his players, and he expresses his anger in a style often seen from the legendary wrestler. But, instead of a vest, Playfair (what a wonderful name for a sports official) proceeds to rip his jacket off, followed by breaking two hockey sticks to pieces. I think he might have imagined to have the referee's neck in his hands - at least this is what his face suggests at the moment.
