Expectations are on a high note as the barns are full of pacers waiting for a turn to showcase their talent. Watching the qualifiers confirmed they are ready to roll down the backstretch. There were some great qualifying times posted. The bad weather did little to stop the steeds from performing at a high level. It looks like another year of great racing at Northlands Park.

The Thoroughbred season will get underway Friday, June 23. There will be 72 days of Thoroughbred racing ending on October 22. As always the Canadian Derby will be the highlight of the season. The Fall Classic, which showcases Alberta-bred thoroughbreds, is always an exciting day of racing in September. Seven stake races on one day, make this day a must see.

Then we return to the Harness winter meet to finish off our racing season. The winter schedule starts November 17 and ends December 16.

There are 151 days of live racing at Northlands Park this year. Simulcast racing runs every day except Christmas Eve and Christmas day.
