The Calgary Roughnecks arrived in Calgary in 2000 and, just four years later, claimed their first National Lacrosse League championship.

On May 7, 2004 at a sold out Pengrowth Saddledome, the Riggers defeated Buffalo 14-11 to take the Champion’s Cup.

Since their arrival in Calgary the Roughnecks have steadily improved their record over each campaign, cluminating in the hoisting of the NLL’s symbol of supremacy in 2004.

Along with being the reigning NLL champions, the Roughnecks will host the NLL’s All-Star game in February, 2005. In that game, the world’s best indoor lacrosse players will take part in a classic West versus East battle.

As most people know, lacrosse is Canada’s original sport. What is less known is that indoor lacrosse is the fastest game on the planet played on two feet!
