The Calgary Folk Music Festival is an annual sound salvation, a four-day family-friendly cultural and musical jamboree at beautiful Prince's Island Park featuring 60 artists from 14 countries on 7 stages in concerts and sessions (round-robins and jams). Organized by the non-profit Folk Festival Society of Calgary and run by its 14-person staff and 1300 volunteers, this 27-year event also includes a family area, beer garden, international food and crafts, plus community booths to give local non-profit organizations a profile.

The Festival presents a very diverse program of 60 artists from around the world in such genres as blues, country, worldbeat, alternative, roots, and celtic performing to an attentive, dedicated audience of 10,000 people daily. Ticket prices are kept low; children under 13 and seniors are admitted free.
